50 Years of
Hardscrabble Day

Visited by thousands every year, this annual community staple located in the Village center celebrates the community of Red Hook.

With free music, activities hosted by community partners, vendors & festival eats - the Village buzzes with crowds and excitement. Traditionally held in mid-September, and coordinated over the years by an array of local organizations, this festival was first kicked off in 1976 as part of Red Hook's Bi-Centennial celebration.

In 2025, a non-profit entity was formed to keep the tradition alive.
